Viral Affinity is a gene exclusive to the Simian Flu DLC. It increases the chance of ape-to-ape transmission of the Flu.

Generally, this gene is used to obtain several achievements such as The Future is Bright, which requires having a large number of infected apes, having this gene makes this process much faster.[2] In addition, this gene is very useful for strategies where it is required to have intelligent apes in all countries before evolving transmissions between apes and humans, such as Hominidae Bridge.[3]
