Transmission traits can be altered in the Transmission screen. Evolving Transmission vectors increases infectivity and gives you bonuses in specific countries. There are 7 Transmission traits to begin with, then more are unlocked for evolution as you evolve traits. Transmission traits are extremely useful in the early game as they do not increase severity, allowing your disease to remain undetected all whilst proliferating quickly. The only exception is with Mega Brutal difficulty, where diseases with no severity can still be detected.

Tier 1 Transmissions

Tier 1 Transmissions do not have any prerequisites, and are all available to be evolved at the start of the game.

Tier 2 Transmissions build upon the earlier tier, increasing infectivity and the special bonuses unique to the trait from which it came from.

Tier 3 Transmissions

Tier 3 Transmissions combine multiple tier 2 transmissions to form an extremely potent vehicle of transmission and infectivity.
