Sympto-Stasis is a gene available for the standard plagues and the Neurax Worm DLC. This gene disables direct cost increments from evolving symptoms, but reduces cure requirement and effectiveness in all environments.

- The Indian technology magazine Digit recommends using this gene to beat Virus in Mega-Brutal difficulty, as it allows to quickly evolve symptoms that spread the disease such as Cysts, Coughing, Nausea and Rash.[1]
- Nano-Virus has some exceptional synergies with it, as some of its symptoms tuned for cure delays have a base cost of 0. This gives it more counters for the cure in the early game.
- Caution is advised when considering the use of this gene at higher difficulties. While it has great potential, symptom costs can still consume DNA relatively quickly.
