Paralysis is tier 4 symptom. It causes pathogen to destroy motor neurons to cause paralysis. It makes a plague much harder to cure, and is sometimes lethal.
In order to earn the achievement Chinese Nuclear Retaliation, it is required that this symptom is evolved in order for President Spalin (a play on former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin) to drop nuclear bombs on them.
