Metabolic Hijack is a gene available for the standard plagues, in addition to the Neurax Worm, Virus Necroa and Simian Flu DLCs. This gene makes it possible to obtain DNA points without having to press the DNA bubbles.

- This also pops colony bubbles in the Simian Flu, potentially allowing for more relaxed gameplay. It doesn't give any more DNA for popping them, though.
Recommendations[]
- It is recommended to use this gene in Speedrun Mode, because it is difficult to collect all the bubbles due to the speed.
