This is a complete list of symptoms throughout Plague Inc.

A

Symptom Plague Type Description
Abscesses Standard Pockets of infected flesh are painful and act as breeding grounds for the pathogen, increasing infection rates when burst.
Acidic Reflux Necroa Virus Extreme laryngopharyngeal reflux causes acidic saliva. Increases severity and gives zombies a combat advantage
Acute Encephalitis Necroa Virus/Neurax Worm Multiple inflammatory lesions in the brain triggered. Causes neurological damage resulting in death
Adoration Neurax Worm Surges of testosterone and estrogone hijack host emotions and create desire to spread infection
Adrenal Surge Necroa Virus Mutation of the adrenal cortex causes adrenaline over-production, increasing alertness and aggression of zombies
Adrenergic Constriction Neurax Worm Beta-receptor blockers released, dampening anxiety in the host and lessening severity of allergic reactions to the worm
Aggression Neurax Worm/Frozen Virus Hypothalamic tap causes irrational hatred and violence, especially towards authorities and uninfected
Akinetopsia Neurax Worm Host struggles to perceive motion making them more likely to collide with others/objects
Anabolic Boost Necroa Virus Surges of testosterone significantly increase muscle mass and weight of some zombies. Severity significantly increased
Anaemia Standard Decrease in red blood cells or haemoglobin in the blood can lead to hypoxia in the organs
Anaerobic Resuscitation Necroa Virus Infected brain cells switch to anaerobic respiration. Lactic acid buildup is lethal and destroys higher brain processes and personality.
Aneurysm Neurax Worm Tendrils feed off blood vessels in the brain which causes aneurysms, can be lethal and hard to accurately diagnose
Anxiolytic Infusion Neurax Worm Mass synthesis of neurotransmitter, gamma-aminobutyric acid, significantly reduces anxiety in the host and minimises severity of reactions
Aphasia Neurax Worm/Frozen Virus Bruised tissue causes language impairment. Makes developing a cure significantly harder
Apraxia Neurax Worm Bruised tissue causes inability to execute certain movements. Reduces infectiousness but extremely hard to cure
Assassin Simian Flu (combo) Apes able to use their stealth abilities when attacking, increasing their effectiveness when needing to fight
Autophagia Necroa Virus Compulsion to bite or partially devour own body - typically fingers or skin. Increases infection rates
Autothysis Necroa Virus Explosive mix of hydrogen sulphide and methane collects inside zombie. Significantly increases severity and zombie combat advantage

B

Symptom Plague Type Description
Bath Time Necroa Virus (Combo) Autophagia, Polyphagia, and

Cannibalism are triggering horrific

attacks daily - significantly

increasing infectivity and

concern over <plague name>

Blindness Neurax Worm/Simian Flu Primary visual cortex disconnected

causing blindness. Significantly

reduced awareness and causes

fatal accidents

Blood in the Air Necroa Virus (Combo) A heightened sense of smell

combined with paranoia causes

zombies to relentlessly search in

an area where they smell fresh

blood - increasing their severity

Blurred Vision Simian Flu/Nipah Virus Lack of sharpness of vision results

in the inability to see fine detail

Bone Dysplasia Necroa Virus/Frozen Virus Relentless bone growth with high

mineral density results in severe

musculoskeletal stress; lethal in

many cases. Broken skin increases

infection

Boomer Necroa Virus (Combo) Autothysis and Liquefactive Necrosis

cause some zombies to explode when

excited and cover their surroundings

with infectious slime - increasing

their severity

Brain Haemorrhage Neurax Worm Tendrils digest brain matter for nutrients

causing complete degeneration

and rupture of the cerebral tissue

Buboes Black Death Infected lymph nodes become swollen

and inflamed. Bursting can aerosolise

contents and infect others.
