Kazakhstan is a poor country with an arid climate. It is bordered by Russia, Central Asia, and China. The country has one of the lowest population densities among the countries of the Asian continent in the game.

Country Information[]

iG Factbook: "Ethnic Kazakhs, a mix of Turkic and Mongol nomadic tribes who migrated into the region in the 13th century, were rarely united as a single nation. The area was conquered by Russia in the 18th century, and Kazakhstan became a Soviet Republic in 1936. During the 1950s and 1960s agricultural 'Virgin Lands' program, Soviet citizens were encouraged to help cultivate Kazakhstan's northern pastures. This influx of immigrants (mostly Russians, but also some other deported nationalities) skewed the ethnic mixture and enabled non-ethnic Kazakhs to outnumber natives. Non-Muslim ethnic minorities departed Kazakhstan in large numbers from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s and a national program has repatriated about a million ethnic Kazakhs thus far back to Kazakhstan. These trends have allowed Kazakhs to become the titular majority again."

Tips[]

  • Since Kazakhstan has such a low population density[Note 2] makes it difficult to infect if the plague doesn't adapt to its environment, as population density determines how close people are to each other within a territory, in addition to the fact that Kazakhstan is not considered a hot or cold country, so the infection bonus that the plague has with respect to climate adaptation will not work in this country. One of the ways to achieve a good growth of infection for this country is the use of Air transmissions, alternatively Blood transmissions can be used which help to gradually increase infection.

Trivia[]

  • The Kazakhstan City Cam uses the same tank as the Russian one, the tank is a US M48 Patton.
  • In a news headline, the statement "Mankini not funny, says Kazakh professor" appears, this is a reference to Borat, a comedy film that parodies the lifestyle in Central Asian countries, this curiosity has to do with the character, Borat Sagdiyev, which is a satirical parody of the Kazakhs. During several scenes in the film, this character is shown wearing a male bikini.
  • Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, was called Nur-Sultan from March 2019 to September 2022. The board game was released in 2017, before the city name changed to Nur-Sultan and back.
  • In Santa's Little Helper scenario, Kazakshtan is one of the hardest countries to spread
