Argentina is a middle class country located in the southernmost part of South America, the country is characterized by a generally balanced climate in addition to the fact that a large part of its population lives in rural areas. Argentina has several land borders with Bolivia, Brazil & Peru, in addition to having two ports that connect the country with other territories in the Southern Hemisphere.

Country Information[]

IG Factbook: "In 1816, the United Provinces of the Rio Plata declared their independence from Spain and from that Argentina was one of the countries that emerged. Up until about the mid-20th century, much of Argentina's history was dominated by periods of internal political conflict between Federalists and Unitarians and between civilian and military factions. After World War II, an era of Peronist populism and direct and indirect military interference in subsequent governments was followed by a military junta that took power in 1976. Democracy returned in 1983 after a failed bid to seize the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) by force. A severe economic crisis in 2001-02 led to violent public protests."

Trivia[]

  • Isla de los Estados only appears in the iOS version, while Islas Malvinas does not appear in neither iOS nor PC version.
  • Both in the PC and mobile version of the game, Chile is part of Argentina, due to the size of the country. But in the Board Game, Chile is considered another cold country in South America.
    • Additionally, Chile has an airport, while Argentina has a single seaport within the board game.
  • Argentina is the only starting country from South America in Plague Inc.: The Board Game.[1]
  • In the Golden Age scenario, many Latin American nations benefit from the economic boom, in which poor countries such as Peru and Colombia move from being poor to middle class, while middle class countries such as Mexico and Brazil become rich countries in this scenario. The exception in the region is Argentina in which the country's economy doesn't benefit in this scenario, so the country is still considered as a middle class country.
